No can forget the summer of 2008, when fuel prices hit their highest peek in the United States history. This was the time when automakers responded with the production of new cars and trucks that would give more mileage and thus prove cost effective for the fuel purchased.

In this regard, Ford also introduced its latest F-150 pickup truck for the year 2009, which launched with some optional SFE edition. This edition featured various fuel-saving techniques and the Blue Oval’s long running three-valve V8 engine.

Its only a year after this introduction, PickupTrucks.com reports say that Ford will drop the SFE model of trucks for the year 2010. But still the good news for those interested in fuel-efficient trucks is that the company will continue to offer a two-wheel drive four-door version of its famous pickup with the SFE-matching 15/21 rating. Thus SFE seems to disappear only in the name.
